Getting to know the culinary tradition
Observation of preparation and baking of potica is carried out in a group. You can learn about Slovenian culinary tradition and get some useful tips at Potičnica (Potica House) on Bled island. During the presentation of the potica baking process we’ll share the knowledge about the customs and festivals related to Slovenian potica.
You can apply for the observation as a group or individually. If you apply alone, you’ll be joined to a group with up to 12 participants.
Together like on a festive day
The workshop of preparation and baking of potica is carried out in a group under the guidance of experienced bakers. Participants of the workshop will be able to use their own workspace and utensils at Potičnica (Potica House) on Bled island, they will also receive pre-made dough and filling as well as other ingredients needed for making potica. The participants will simply follow the instructions and the process of the preparation and roll their own potica. All the participants can keep their baked potica.

Baking potica will be a piece of cake from now on
You can gain the largest amount of useful knowledge about the preparation and baking of potica if you attend the course. Under the guidance of a teacher you will be able to perform the whole process of preparing the dough and filling all by yourselves. During that you will learn what must be taken into special consideration when baking potica. We will also present the tradition related to potica. The course takes place in the museum workshop at Potičnica (Potica House) on Bled island.
As the attendee of the course you can use your own workspace and all the necessary ingredients so you can follow the process independently, but guided by a teacher. You can keep the potica that you bake at the course. You will also be able to buy earthenware moulds for baking potica – »potičnice«.
The course of preparation and baking of potica lasts 2 hours and is performed in a group of up to 8 participants.

Many visitors to the shrine, who have always gone on pilgrimage to the island, love the Wishing Bell. When they ring the bell, they commend themselves to the Mother of God and hand over their wishes and requests in faith that she will fulfil them.
